Taco La Gardenia

Good food, great friendly service, reasonable price and their pan dulce is the best I've had in San Antonio. Order Chilaquiles in red sauce came with refied beans and fried potatoes, I asked for a side of barbacoa. My plate was delicious and generous. My friend order caldo de res and that was also delicious. Its was made that day, not reheated. It had plenty of vegetables and whole beef shank in the bowl. Corn tortillas were homemade, and chips and salsa were fresh too. Will be returning again.

Taco La Gardenia is one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants in the Government Hill neighborhood. Not a fancy place, but great food. My favorite is the beef gordita plate. Delicious salsa and chips. Warning: the red salsa in the bottle is scorching hot! Daily specials, extensive menu. Open till 2 pm Monday thru Saturday. Don't forget to pick up delicious pastries/iced cookies at the attached bakery when you're paying your bill!

Such a wonderful place for breakfast in the morning. The waitresses are smiley and friendly, accommodating, and don't get my orders wrong. I can add pastries or donuts to my check with ease. They are a bilingual restaurant for those who don't speak Spanish. The place inside is clean, plenty of seating room and have amazing breakfast tacos. I love going here in the morning for their tacos and oatmeal. Definitely the most fulfilling breakfast food I've had at a restaurant in my morning after an early class, which is located just 5 minutes from my school. The establishment doesn't compromise the food quality for price. I can get a fulfilling meal for 2 for around $5. I highly recommend going here to satiate any appetite any day.
