Smashin Crab

My family and I had the best experience here. We had the big boil with a bit of everything. It was fresh and delicious. Even my five year old loved the crab. I will say, when they say it's spicy, they mean it so plan accordingly. We will definitely be back.

The food was jam packed with flavor and you get more than enough for the price! I can’t wait to go back. The service was great and the food was even better. This was my first time eating here and it’s definitely a hot spot. Call ahead of time to reserve a table if possible or just get there at a decent time to avoid long wait times. I was surprised that they offered teacher discounts, so that was a plus for me! (I visited the Bandera location).

This was my first experience at a REAL southern seafood restaurant and also my first crab boil. I’m only sorry that it took so long to pamper my palette with the Cajun boil perfection!! You are able to select the ingredients you’d like to include and if you’re a rookie like I was, the servers are so nice and helpful if you need an expert opinion. I highly recommend visiting the Smashing Crab! I certainly will again when I’m back in that neck of the woods.

Loved eating here! We both had the king crab boil. Delicious, messy, primal eating experience! Don’t go here if you can’t handle eating with your hands and getting messy. You eat on paper that lines the table and this isn’t the kind of place where you worry about what food might be on your face as you eat. I got vegetables mixed in with my crab boil and it comes in the bag together. I just grabbed a fork and dug into the bag with it. It was delicious! Also, I thought their cornbread was to die for....moist and just enough sweetness! Ended up ordering another one after using the first one to sop up the juice in the boil bag. My husband got level 3 and I got level 2. His was perfectly spicy and I would say mine was mild to medium spicy. I’d go up to level 3 next time because I like some heat. Their level 6 uses Carolina Reaper!!! Our server, Alex was really sweet, attentive, and had such a genuinely positive attitude (huge kudos to her!). We will be back!

We really enjoy this place. The employees are a lot of fun and enthusiastic. The seafood is cooked perfectly with many great flavors to choose from. Had the pleasure of talking to one of the owners sitting behind the bar. Even the owner was very attentive to the quality of food coming out. When he doesn't like something, he fixes it immediately! He is very engaging answering all my curious questions. He could have very easily ignored me. Thank you Lauren for the awesome service! It's like she has eyes in the back of her head. She always appears at the right time to check on guests, refill drinks, and take orders. One of the best there! Thank you for everything!
