The food here is fantastic, the shrimp had a wonderful flavor with just the right amount of spice. Our hosts also surprised us by showing us their traditional method for making fresh-roasted coffee, which we then sampled along with some popcorn they made. It was a delightful experience. I look forward to my next visit!

We've been here a couple of times before and have enjoyed the food every time. My first time to have Ethiopian food was in Washington, DC many years ago so I was excited when we found this place.

The Ethiopian coffee (jebena) is pretty strong if you drink it black. I liked it with cream. Today we had the veggie and meat combo platter. It was delicious and very filling. I loved that the beef was a little spicy.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Bahata is very welcoming and a great host. Be ready to eat with your hand and enjoy some authentic food. Definitely will be back.

The Eritrean owner from Asmara is extremely kind! I ate Ethiopian/Eritrean food in many cities, and since coming to visit my friend in San Antonio, I would like to come here and eat Ethiopian food. The decoration is plain but with traditional Ethiopian tables and authentic Ethiopian/Eritrean food options. My friend has not eaten Ethiopian/Eritrean food for 20 years and wanted to take some pictures, and the owner is extremely happy to do so for us. Though he did not do a good job recommending dishes for my friend, the food that we did order came with surprise! The food portion is huge and it was very delicious. Though the coffee was not very great, I still greatly enjoyed the coffee ceremony. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again if I have a chance to visit San Antonio in the future.
