Exceptional service, amazing food. The la Fonda special has a little bit of everything. The chili rubbed steak was so tender, and the potatoes were amazing. Truly a great experience. A lot of people were dressed in suits and dresses, but we were in jeans and casual attire and were not out of place. There is a large variety if margaritas, but they were very light on the tequila so that could be improved on but nothing else comes to mind as they were nearly perfect! My new favorite upscale restaurant when my favorite dive Mexican go to places just won’t do. You won’t be disappointed.

The food was exceptional, but I really had an issue with the lack of managerial efforts. You could tell the guy was an assistant manager or something and had never been in hospitality services. It's a shame because it's such a delightful place.

The first time my husband and I went here our waitress was TERRIBLE but the food was so good we had to come back to give them another chance. Lemme just say Alejandro turned it all around! Amazing service to complement the amazing food. The mole enchiladas were delicious! 10/10 would come back.

One of my favorite places in San Antonio, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is even better, especially the back patio and the gorgeous ancient oak tree that shades it all. My personal meal of choice is the veggie fajitas, and they serve a near perfect margarita. Highly recommend

Wow. We just happened on this Mexican restaurant because it was in walking distance of the hotel. The beef fajitas were the best....I mean best ever. Normally I choose chicken over beef but I will never do that here. Service was excellent and chicken tortilla soup was incredibly filling and delicious. Don’t miss out in the homemade flour and corn tortillas either. Can’t say enough. We will be back next time we are in town.
