I really loved the trendy vibe and there are very few chicken and waffle places in town. I enjoyed the free corn bread they serve before the meal and my meal had a good portion. The only thing I didn’t really like was the waffle. It was thin and soft and my meal only came with 1 but for the price, atmosphere and wait staff, I still give it 5 stars. It was delicious
Grape cool aid, collard green, AND fried chicken? You can't go wrong! Chicken is the best you'll find in SA! A fifth star for crispy waffles but you won't go wrong with anything on the menu. I do wish there was a little more space Bec they do get busy.
Delicious!!! But very busy, expect a wait. You are seated together with other parties at long tables so it gets a little crowded and a bit awkward for those of us who don’t enjoy dining with strangers (can get over it for some good chicken and waffles though). My first cup of coffee was room temperature but another waitress replaced with a hot cup and it was good from then on. Orange juice came in a plastic bottle, like you’d buy at a gas station, with no glass offered. Stools were too short for the table so food plates sit at a weird height. Still really great food, will be back.
I wasn't really all that impressed with the chicken and waffles. They offer a large menu which is nice. But I was really hoping to get the chicken and waffles. Chicken strips are shrimpy and lack flavor. Waffles are flat and could be fluffed up a bit. Nether had that crunchy texture you might expect from a place that specializes in chicken and waffles. Service was decent but not exactly personable. I'll be giving this place some time before I head back again for another go. Hope they work things out for the better.
There are lots of fried chicken places in the South, but this one is one of the better local places. The chicken is perfectly fried so that each bite contains a perfect crisp. Both the chicken and the batter have a nice taste. Each bite is tender and not over fried or dried out. I also had the Mac and cheese. It was good, but nothing ultra spectacular. The chicken is the definite star.
