Food was fantastic and reasonably priced. As good as the food was, the people were even better. Perfect spot in San Antonio, actually Leon Valley.
This place is a wonderful, absolute hidden gem! You can find a ton of mexican restaurants in and around San Antonio but they definitely go up several notches here. I absolutely love the food. Best in and around San Antonio and the prices are extremely reasonable for everything going on out there. Definitely give them a try and tell your friends. Locally owned businesses rock!
Not much of the interior has changed from the Leon Valley Cafe days, except the front door is available for access now. Food offerings include "legacy" recipes (from the old Cha Cha's restaurants), new menu items, daily specials, and lunch specials. We had the crispy taco plate, and it was quite good. The chips and salsa are much as I remember from the old restaurant, which was good. There are QR codes on the tables for the menu, but we were greeted up front and asked to order there. The check was settled at the table.
People haven't found this place yet. I hope they will soon, and give the New Gen a chance to thrive!
Our food was amazing. The service was nice and attentive. We ordered the enchilada plate and the super nachos with shredded chicken. It is a small restaurant so understand there are not 10 people cooking food in the back to give you your order in less than 5 minutes. Go when you have time to enjoy the people and conversations with a small restaurant. We enjoyed seeing the chef's daughter and son be apart of the restaurant business and the daughter made the cutest smallest enchilada plate I should've taken a picture since she was so proud of her little dish. The chef's son conversed with my husband about the vegan/ vegetarian options, we appreciated his suggestions. These are restaurants we need to support in our community.
Such a lovely little location. The food was great and so was the service. I love that they kept some original recipes and added new stuff. I’ll definitely come back!
