Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Big burgers and portions. Unfortunately, there was not much taste to the food so we had to add seasoning to burgers and fries. I know some ppl like to add seasoning for themselves, but personally I prefer items come out already tasty. I don't like heavily seasoned food, yet this was still too light for me. So food wise, 3 stars. I gave 1 more star for nice service and atmosphere. Might return to give them another try.
I visited Chris Madrid’s with my family on our recent trip to San Antonio. A lot of people told us how good it was and I didn’t want to believe the hype...but the hype is real. Chris Madrid’s makes one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. The burgers are massive, the cheese is melted and delicious, and the fries were fresh. The restaurant was also pretty nice, it seems like it would be a cool spot to go and hang out.
It usually takes a lot to get me excited about a burger, I feel like it’s pretty rare for me to be genuinely impressed. Chris Madrid’s is the real deal and I will definitely be stopping next time I’m in San Antonio.
I've been going to Chris' since it was a hole in the wall. In the old days I ate there 2 sometimes 3 times a week. I ate there for the 1st time the other night since the fire. The place looks great; the same but better. The tostada burger is just like I remember it. The bar is nice; even though Jimmy has retired. Chris would be proud.
Renovations look good. Outdoor patio really gives this place charm.
Burger was alright, but it’s far from the best in SA. Not a place I would recommend if you aren’t super into cheddar cheese as the burgers here are practically swimming in it. If you’ve ever warmed up cardboard in a dirty microwave and then added one grain of salt, then you’ve had their fries. Wouldn’t recommend getting the fries.
Burgers are good. Interior tables are spread six feet apart, that have outdoor seating available with hydro fans (water mist) to help keep cool outside, and an additional building I believe for extra seating. Overall really good!
