My first time here and it’s a good experience. There’s plenty of parking but does get full. It’s in a unique area where There’s outside seating as well as inside. We were there during busy time but they manage to still provide good food and good service. I had the Blacken Catfish, which was delicious and freshly cooked since I had to wait for it to cool down before eating it (almost burn my tongue but will worth it). All the reviews I read before coming here talked about their onion rings and it did not disappoint. We also had the fried pickles and that too did not disappoint. In fact, it’s one of the best ones I had so far.
2014: Sad. So disappointed it's closed.
2013: First time so had to try the onion rings and catfish. Small onion rings order is huge; more than enough for two. The Texas size order must be gigantic. Good batter, crispy and hot. Catfish was very good. Crispy, hot and good flavor. Good sized portions. Regular order will fill you up. Two people would enjoy splitting the large order. I didn't like the cole slaw, but my spouse did. That was OK with me - more room for catfish and rings.
The server was very attentive and friendly. I was impressed by another observation: The servers are a team. When our food was ready, the first available server brought it to us.
As for the decor, I've watched a little too much Restaurant Impossible. Definitely has that rustic look. Saw a few cobwebs and the deer heads and other memorabilia must be dust collectors. Otherwise, everything else looked clean. I'm going back.
Our first experience today was excellent! Atmosphere was inviting, server (mick) was supercool, and the food was yummy!!! Definitely going back :-)
Good food at a great price. $10 for a chicken fried steak big enough for two. Atmosphere varies. Can be too warm.
