Small place but food is good.
This is the best Chinese food in SA! The food is fresh, authentic and always delicious. The service can be hectic because Everyone wants to eat here. But be patient, you will get a table and it's worth waiting for. The staff is wonderful! Try the specials like handmade steamed buns or soup dumplings.
The food is truly authentic which I based on having traveled the world and have tried many different Chinese restaurants. Portions are large and served "family style" with a large pot of steamed rice. The service is amazing and very friendly knowledgeable. Our server's name was Kristina and she was great!
This is as Chinese as you're going to get in San Antonio, then again this town is sorely lacking in authentic Mexican cuisine even of average quality. If the latter isn't ironic, I don't know what is. It's nowhere in the same league in terms of the above average to best Chinese cuisines that can be found in other major cities in North America (ie. Vancouver, Toronto, NYC), but for SA, not bad. The food ingredients are fresh, the wait staff is friendly, and they actually serve vegetables other than snow peas (yuck!), and baby corn (even yuckier!!). I'm a simple person and as long as I can get my sauteed snow pea LEAVES with a good dollop of garlic, I'm good to go! It doesn't hurt that this best Chinese restaurant in SA (that I'm aware of) is in my hood.
