Ambiance is 5 star. However food was 3.5. Escargot was bland. Quail risotto needed salt or flavor. Lamb was mediocre. Bummed for the price but overall a nice atmosphere.
Celebrated my birthday here with family & absolutely loved it! This was my 1st time here & didn't realize it was mainly sandwiches for lunch. However, our marvelous waiter offered me an off the menu plate, it was my lucky day. He offered me Salmon (one of my favorite fish)on a bed of fresh cooked garlic spinach & a glass of champagne that made my meal delicious. The OMG part was yet to come...I finished my meal with chocolate mouse ot was so lite & creamy.
I really liked the atmosphere and the staff, the food was good, but I wouldn't say it was dang near $80 to $100 per person good. The pea soup was however fantastic, and for $14.. it had better be. I've never had a beef wellington before, so I have nothing to base it off of. It's like 8oz. of beef (perfectly cooked, but under seasoned) and then 30oz. of puff pastry. Perhaps if the prices matched the food... I would rate at 5 stars. I am curious about the lunch menu. So perhaps an opportunity to bump up. Shall see.
Incredible. My passion for fine dining is always squashed by what San Antonio has to offer. To be honest I didn't have high expectations. However, I was completely blown away. I was excited to see Prince Edward Island mussels on the menu. Though I already knew what I would pair them with, my server made recommendations which was a beautiful touch to the experience. I wish I could remember the name of my server... very tall guy who played basketball in college. He was an incredible server and I hope to remember his name so that I can ask for him again.
I'll be purchasing three gift cards for my family members for Christmas, as this is an experience and a hidden gem I'm thrilled to share.
This is the best restaurant in all of San Antonio. The atmosphere was very upscale and comforting by the staff and chef. The carpaccio was to die for and was a well-balanced symphony of flavors. If available you have to get the beef Wellington it’s amazing from start to finish and was worth every penny.
