Thank you cleto from Fox news where's cleto .My husband is very picky about BBQ but this place was delicious ribs brisket and polish sausage very good sweet corn was off the hook the charro beans were very delicious I highly recommend to all the picky dad's.
This was a place that some friends and I wanted to try. The food and the service were fantastic. I would highly recommend this place, off the beaten track.
I’ve grown up my whole life eating Texas BBQ, and have eaten at many of the legendary spots.
I’m giving this 5 stars because this place would fit right in with the rise in competition I’ve witnessed growing up in Austin and I left happy knowing I had a go-to spot for BBQ in SA now.
The Brisket was on point. Great tasting bark, so you don’t really need sauce at all, but I also really liked the unique flavor of the house-made sauce so I used it sparingly on the less fatty sections of meat.
It was later in the day, so the owner was generous and gave me a free sample of the pulled pork. I definitely would recommend the brisket over the pork for my personal taste, but it did work well with the sauce and also the house made tomatillo sauce that was offered.
I liked both the potato salad and the corn, but wasn’t floored by either compared to the brisket. However... if I’m being fair and comparing it to the sides you get at most BBQ spots it was all definitely well above average.
The final thing that really impressed was the attention to detail. The quality of garnishes/flavor enhancers was well above what you get at most BBQ spots and is kind of indicative of the new era of Texas BBQ in my eyes. It’s all about the meats, but it’s not ONLY about the meats.
I will be back and look forward to trying the ribs among other things!
Food and service was excellent. The seasoning was just right and all 3 of their own sauces were good. My favorite was the sweet red but the tomatillo and spicy hot sauces were good too. Highly recommend.
Bbq was delicious, I liked that they give tortillas instead of bread.
