Trappers Sushi Co. - Dove Creek

Off to a STELLAR start here at this long awaited sushi spot on the outskirts of San Antonio. I live outside 1604 so I have been on pins and needles waiting for Trappers to open. I scheduled a same day reservation for 6 on my birthday yesterday and there was a bit of a snafu with seating but their host (Jaden I think it was) handled it quickly and efficiently to ensure we were re-seated in a good spot. The service was top notch and everyone was so kind and speedy. Food came fast, or server Hannah was super attentive, and everything was amazing. We had tempura veggies, shrimp, trapper bites, gyoza, and 6 different rolls. Everything was fresh and delicious. Did I mention they have a full bar and about 5 or so beers on tap? Visit during opening week. We did the all you can eat at the sushi bar. Wait staff needs more training. Our waitress did not explain the rules at the bar properly. She also did not bring our napkins or drinks when we asked. My appetizers didn't come until I mentioned they never came, almost 30 min after ordering.
A great note, our sushi chef was amazing! She was fast and attentive and explained everything with ease and a great attitude. We will return. Sushi was fresh and tasty.

This side of town was in dire need of a quality sushi restaurant and Trapper's swooped in and saved the day! They opened on December 5, 2022. I wrestled back and forth with letting them figure it out first before visiting or chancing it and going to visit during the first week open.

I chanced it and was pleasantly surprised. We were quoted a 45 min to 1hr wait they grabbed our phone number and sent a text. Luckily the restaurant is in a shopping center so we popped over to a store while waiting for the text. We were seated well under the time quoted.

We had two staff members wait on us, they were pleasant, polite, and knowledgeable on the menu.

Food was delivered accurate (rare for a new restaurant just opened a couple days ago). The food was amazing and I will definitely be going back. We downloaded the app and found it to be helpful with understanding the menu. They offer points for each visit and I can't wait to see what my birthday surprise will be.

Trapper's is our new place so happy we took a chance on it!

The food was delicious, up in Washington!!! A wonderful tour of local specialities with excellent presentation. Each roll was well balanced, great textures and flavours. I will say for what you pay it is definitely worth every penny, plus more!!!
We particularly enjoyed the atmosphere, which was more informal than expected.
They always have really lovely characters and made us felt at ease and respected. This is reflected among all staff as well, who are incredibly professional and clearly take pride in their work, while remaining very personable.
A fantastic experience, and highly recommended!!
