My first visit, but not my last. The service was top-notch. The atmosphere was casual, with partial outdoor seating and indoor seating available. I went at lunch time on a weekday. The food is very good, nothing unique or gimmicky about their menu beyond the typical for a Texas BBQ joint. I got the brisket baked potato and sausage, which was quite good. The tap water has a chemical taste that I think comes from their filtration system or the sanitizer water used in some restaurant kitchens for dishwashing (I recognize the aroma from years ago when I worked in fast food). Either way, it's an attempt at being clean so it's hard to fault them to hard it. I traded my water for a coke. All in all, I will return and recommend to my friends and coworkers.
Amazing-chicken fried ribs try- both bbq and honey sauce they come with. Mac brisket grilled cheese is THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD and was a huge portion. Loaded potatoes are bomb. Craw fish tacos are ???????? great food specials during the week! Definitely coming back.
Great place. Haven't been there in a while. But Doug has a good recipe for BBQ, attentive waitresses and a good selection of items. Parking lot may be tough for some, but if you can drive, should be no problem. Doug is also one hell of a keyboard player. He'd make Jerry Lee squirm, this I know, he was in my band for some time. The pitmaster when I was there was a nice lady, although I can't recall her name. The brisket was tender, juicy and not black on the outside. Smoke rings are useless as any one can have them with either paprika or chili powder. So, pay zero attention to that. As a matter of fact most cookoffs have now discounted the smoke ring as a judging category. Oh yeah, Doug let's have a little cook-off!????
Full of flavor, I had a pulled pork BBQ Potato. Meat was smokey, tender, juicy, with a crisp edge. My friend had the brisket, it looked as if made by the gods, it oozed with clear juices and had a 1/2 inch smoke ring topped with a 1/8 crust. The fat content was enough to keep the meat moist and tender but not too much. The sauce was OK or Average.
Delicious food! The employees were so friendly and accommodating. We will get definitely be coming back.
