Small town cafe with good service and home town comfort food, like having Grandma in the back making it herself. Go hungry and see if you eat it all. Always have to get a doggy bag.
The food is so good. Plenty of food. Made two meals out of what I received. Waitresses check on you plenty. Loved it here.
Update (21-Jan-22): Kent responded to my review below. He was very apologetic, and sent me certificates to go back and give it another shot. That was quite a while ago, as I was traveling often between Illinois and Texas and lost the certificates. But when we moved back to Texas I found them while unpacking. Since we were going to Alvin on last Friday we decided to stop by and try again.
What a difference from last time! Both the food and the service were great! I'm sure we will be stopping by again. It appears that they must have been just having a bad day last time.
I was able to meet Kent, and he seems to be a really nice guy that is genuinely concerned about his customer's experience
Original review: What a disappointment! It's been quite a few years since we were last there. I don't know what happened, but this trip is a one-star, and last time in would have been at least four-stars. The food was awful. Just awful. Won't be back.
Small town cafe feel, good food, good prices and great dessert.
Our waitress was great and the service even from other waitresses was amazing.
Couldn't ask for much more.
The food and the service is great. I like the Large portion of the Chicken Fried Steak. Unlike Kelly's in Alvin, their chicken fried steak won't give you heart burn. My wife loves the pork chop special. It's good down home cooking and friendly folks.
