To be fair, it seemed like everyone around me enjoyed their meals, but I ordered the $60 “waygu” ribeye and asked for it rare. I got a medium/medium well piece of meat that wasn’t easy to cut and didn’t have any flavor.
I politely informed the server that this was not what I hoped for and that she could take it away. I was still billed for it, with one bite missing, because the issue was “my high standards”.
I wasn’t impressed.
Wife and I had the best dinner here 4/3/19. Everything was amazing from the recommended wine to the wagyu steak. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday dinner. We will be back for sure.
Awesome location for a reunion! Great ambiance. Delicious food and adult beverages, served family style. Would've given 5 stars, but we never got any serving utensils which makes plating a meal extremely awkward.
This place is just okay. On paper it seems perfect. Farm to table seasonal menu, great decor, and long tables giving a sense of community. The problems come once you start dissecting it. The first time I went here I had the fried chicken which was pretty good and the fact that it was locally farm raised chicken made it special. Tonight me and my girlfriend had the red snapper. The fact that it’s an open kitchen means you can see everything they’re doing to your plate if you paid enough attention. My fish was prepared then placed on a rag on a ledge while it was waiting to be plated. I didn’t think much of it until I witnessed a chef rest his arms on the very same rag my fish was just on. Gross. If you’re going to have an open kitchen, make sure you have a disciplined kitchen staff with a sense of self awareness. The snapper dish itself was pretty good but nothing special like the fried chicken dish. Desserts here are fantastic, I can’t deny that. This place has the potential to be something really amazing with a little more attention to detail.
Really wonderful remodel of a historical Bryan building.
All the food was wonderful!
Service was outstanding. Spent a lot of time explaining the current menu, unique little bits of things from the farm, and discussing wine.
So many different ways to enjoy the experience.
Definitely going back for the fried chicken!
