I've been fortunate to come here twice on separate work visits. The staff are always friendly (the first time, they gave me a try of fried okra for free having overheard me asking my colleagues about it) and the food, oh the food...

Definitely go when you are hungry, but the steak is just sublime. 5 stars feels like it's not enough.

Craving for a taste of Texas without paying for the premium? If you are anywhere within 50 miles of College Station, this is a must visit. The steaks are top notch, perfectly seasoned and cooked to your preference. Please, no steak sauce with these gems. The sides are just hazy memories, the steaks are the stars. Service was stellar and so friendly, like everyone in this little college town. Drinks are served in giant mason jars, which adds to the charm and ambiance of a small town eatery. Save room for desert, the peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream will top off one of the best steak dinners you've ever had. It's always packed, and for good reason. Perhaps the most pleasant surprise of all is when you get the bill and think, there must be some mistake? It's ok, just over tip your server, they so deserve it.

All in all, I love this place. It's a traditional steak house that is better quality than the prices would indicate. Or lower prices than the quality should demand.

They say that they are where the locals eat. Well, we do, and judging from their parking lot, a lot of others do, as well.

We ordered flame grilled rib eye steaks. One of them was overdone, but they did a fast turnaround and brought a perfectly cooked and delicious replacement. The service was great. Fun atmosphere. Overall a good dining experience.

The food was AMAZING! If you want good local Texas food this is definitely the place to go! My husband loved the chicken fried steak. I also enjoyed the smothered grilled chicken. The service equally wonderful.
