A co-worker and I went there for lunch. I have been around the area for a while,so I know 'fast' is not the reason to go to Martin's - it's quality. Having said that, however, given it is TAMU graduation weekend - ordering and eating was still only about an hour.
I got the combo sandwich (two meats) and my co-worker got the chopped beef sandwich combo (tots + tea). Both of us enjoyed it and my sausage and sliced brisket sandwich was overly generous... Fantastic.
If you are in the area and want to eat at a place that is all but guaranteed to have been in existence much longer than you have been alive - drop in, have some great BBQ. Don't be in a hurry though!
Food is always so good!! I love the ribs. My family loves loves loves the sausage. Perfection! The women are always nice and remember us everytime we come in! Thanks for the great food and service!
We always eat here. Always hot when we get our food. We love talking to Ms. Betty.
My FAVORITE BBQ place in the state!!! Not even kidding. I'm 62 and my Dad used to eat here when he was an Aggie student, and he loved it, too. They've been using the same pit since the 30's, I think (yeah, it's got the historical marker), so the bbq is richly smoked, oh so tender brisket and falling off the bone ribs. Original everything inside, too. Time has stood still inside and out at Martin's! (Ice cold soda in bottles, too!)
This Historic BBQ place has shut down. I don't know the exact date however, I think a year now. I was sad too b/c they had very good BBQ & well, everything on the menu was good!
