Southerns

Wow was an amazing comedy & Southerners put it on for free. Had a great time. Only negative was that there was plenty of waitstaff, but had to continually go to the bar for my drinks because the waitress never came by our table. Other than that my wife & I laughed our butt off. It was a great date night.

This is easily my favorite bar in the BCS area. I’ve been countless times and the bar staff is incredibly friendly. On multiple occasions, they have suggested and made great new combinations of drinks for me. Their commitment to good local musicians and the community is incredible. As a female, I’ve never felt as safe at a bar as I have at Southerns.

Atmosphere:
The atmosphere stays true to the country bar scene with all the wood furnishings, neon lights and decor. The graffiti style artwork on the back wall is unique and combines both urban and passion for the local university. Don't forget to stare up above at the ceiling to see the giant guitar. There is a vast amount of seating with the booths on the back side and tables on the side. Overhearing that the booths are reserved for VIPs during concert venues, seems awkward per the distance they are from the stage. Sitting on the side was a great view of the whole venue and concert, as well as easy access to the dance floor.

Service:
Granted they have only been open for a short time, it resonates as to why some of the waitresses were unaware of certain prices on drinks and getting our food/drinks at an appropriate timeframe. I feel over time it will get better as they get accustomed to the crowd and familiarize with the menu.

Quality:
In terms of a country bar I thought they did great, the stage is a decent size and definitely allows for interaction with the crowd due to how close one can get. The dance floor is a good size for where it's at, but compared to other country bars in the area, it falls short. The food was really good and you get your money's worth, the only thing that was interesting was the small concert menu and little to no adjustments to the food.

Some recommendations would be not to host too many concerts so that it gives the community more opportunities to try out the dance floor because there were a great amount of old/new country as well as Texas country music prior to the concert. As mentioned before, once waitresses/servers get familiar with menu, it will be a hit. Had a great time with the crowd we showed up and hope it improves on an already great experience, so we can make our way back soon.
