The Cookshack

Went later in the evening on Sunday when everything else in town was cleaning up or closed.

I ordered the salad & my companion ordered the tenders with fries, mild heat level.

We were both pleasantly surprised with the speed at which our food was brought out. Everything was presented well & looked fresh.

Salad had a good array of greens, with almonds, dates, goat cheese, and a nice vinaigrette. The chicken in the salad was tasty, but I would have liked it better if it was cut into chunks vs. thinly sliced. The thin slices made me think it was almost like lunch meat. Still tasty, but not my personal preference.

My friend ordered the tenders, which an order of 3 were about the size of almost 2 large chicken breasts. Great portions and both the tenders and fries were well seasoned. The mild heat level was making his nose run, so he said next time he might order the next level down.

Overall a great surprise & cool find on our list. Will return in the future!

Staff was awesome. Food was incredible. Restaurant is clean. Chicken tenders are perfect. Next time I go I'm getting a 5 gallon bucket of the sweet heat sauce. Recommend you check this place out.

The cookshack is new to college station, so we wanted to try it. The ribs and fried chicken were amazing! You can choose the level of spice, so there was a good option for everyone in our party. Also, the service was great! All the employees seemed to really enjoy working there, which made for a fun atmosphere. Will definitely return!

My husband and I came here on a Saturday night. We got a seat right away and the food was out in just a few minutes! The ribs and Mac n cheese are the BEST!! I also tried the chicken and waffles which were also great. The manager is very friendly, and the staff is awesome! Definitely coming back!!
