Dinning in a National Park sounded like an awesome experience. My husband and I decided to end our day at BBNP at the restaurant. We were not disappointed. The views were amazing, the food not only tasted amazing but was presented so beautifully.
If you are visiting the park, even though this will cost you, it's very worth it.
Restaurant opens for dinner at 4:30. We had to wait for a little bit. Views of the mountains are very nice. We had the barbecue plate with sausage and pulled pork plus the bacon wrapped fillet mignon with mashed potatoes and veggies. Sopapillas with ice cream for dessert. Everything tasted good and the service was fast and server was very nice.
First, the staff was excellent. They're very friendly and hospitable. Our server took very good care of us during a very busy lunch hour. The restaurant itself could stand a refreshing. While the bay windows provide an excellent view, I wouldn't be surprised if the curtains, blinds, tables, chairs and linoleum floor tiles (some were missing) are the same from the day they opened this restaurant. It has the feel of a multi-purpose auditorium where they can change the purpose of the restaurant to a dancing venue, or a theater, place to have a reception, or even an emergency shelter. As for the food, it's all pretty simple to prepare and served well. I bet after a long day of hiking or several days of camping, the food tastes pretty awesome. If you're looking for a place to eat that's one step above a cafeteria, this is the place.
Unexpected restaurant in this beautiful park. The food was perfect after eating canned food for a few days camping. The wait is a bit limited due to the small seating area and limited staff members to dine in.
Overall, food was amazing and so was the dessert! Just expect a decent wait time when the restaurant is full and be patient
