Great food at a great price! I've been going to this restaurant since I was a kid. The food and service are great. Breakfasts are incredible; everything made to order and generous portions!
Be sure to bring cash as the Bluebonnet Cafe doesn't take credit or debit cards. *** If you don't have cash, no worries, there's an ATM right there in the restaurant.

First, I want you to know that I visited the Bluebonnet Cafe on International Pi Day which is during spring break here in South Texas. There was a line out the door, but it moved rather quickly.

From the moment we walked through the door and we're able to get up to the greeter took only about 10 minutes. The greeter was friendly, every staff member we saw had a smile on their face even though they were extremely busy, and as soon as a table was ready we're seated in an efficient, but not hurried, way.

as far as the menu goes, it's a typical greasy spoon. There are deep fried things, there are grilled things, there are salad type things, and of course there is pie!

I have lived in Texas for 20 years, but this was my first visit to the Bluebonnet Cafe. It did not disappoint. The pies that are in the pi case as you walk in the door or lovely to look at, fresh-baked, and served quickly.

I got a pie sampler of three different pies and an entire pie to bring home for my husband. With lunch, drink, and all that pie, the cost was not prohibitive.

I would recommend a trip to the Bluebonnet Cafe if you are in The Marble Falls area... Even if you're not in the area, it is worth the drive.

Been here a total of three times. The first time I ordered the chicken fried steak. I’m sorry but it was the worst chicken fried steak I have ever had. Absolutely Bland and tough, super hard to cut. Do not recommend! The second time I had a chicken fried chicken and it was decent but again bland. The third time I tried the pot roast plate and thank god!!!! It actually was really good! The green beans are delicious , the taco soup which was a special at the time is pretty decent.

THE “biscuits” and “cornbread” are not good at all and taste stale and dry. The biscuit makes a better brick then a biscuit.

The staff is lovely and super friendly and FAST. They are really good !!

The place was clean and ran efficiently I was very pleased with the service.

Will continue to try new items on the menu and see if I can find something that’s good.

Country, down home comfort food. Best pies ever. Pie happy hour from 3-5pm is the bomb. Four stars because I don’t like that they microwave their rolls and cornbread and they didn’t even bring any to the table. On my last visit, my chicken fried steak And potatoes had an overwhelming weird flavor. Might have been the gravy. Nevertheless I couldn’t eat it. Never had that happen before.
This place is Texas institution and doesn’t serve sweet tea. ????

Most of the wait staff are super nice and speedy, but a couple need an attitude adjustment. I think they’ve just been there too long and they are tired of their job.

BEWARE! They do not accept credit or debit cards, but have an ATM that charges high fees. So bring your cash or check book.
