Actually visited today. Food is always fantastic. Read a review that Friday is best day to visit. It was true. No long line or fight for a table.

First come first served! Came at a time when they only had ribs. That a bad thing?! @$__# no. The best ribs anywhere! Easter weekend should have expected Staples to be gone, which they were, but happy to have the ribs which are usually gone before noon!

This is one of my favorite BBQ joints! I prefer City Market over any place in Lockhart! The brisket is always good and the sauce makes it even better. They also have very good sausage. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some good barbecue. I know you won’t be disappointed!

Bring cash. They don't take plastic. ATM charged $1.75 for withdrawal. Sampled the brisket, sausage, and pork ribs. Meat was not as smokey as I like. Ribs had a sweet BBQ sauce on it. Good smoked meet don't need no sauce. Guess that's why they put the sauce on. Beans and potato salad were good. Iced tea was not fresh brewed, it was the powdered kind you mix into water.

Best of the best! They have the only BBQ sausage I eat. Coarse ground and loose packed with the best flavor and texture! Joe has run a great place for the 30+ years I've been going out of my way to get there. I always buy some extra cold links and sauce to take home.
