Calacas Tacos & Beer - Brownsville

Great place with lively music. Excellent customer service. The food is delicious. Does not matter what you order will not be disappointed. A must visit if your in Brownsville. Luckily they also have locations in South Padre Island, San Benito and in the future Pharr, Texas. The managers of this place are on top of everything. The employees greet you with a smile and seem genuinely happy to be at work.

The drinks were very tasty and delicious. I had the cucumber lemonade and my son had the strawberry lemonade. The tacos were good and filling but still lacked a bit of flavor. The only thing I didnt enjoy as much were the tripa tacos, they were too crunchy for my taste, more like chicharrones. The salsas were alright. The charro beans were pretty good. The desebreda tostada was good but again meat lacked flavor. My son loved his Gringa taco. Cheesecake was delicious.

Fantastic place to eat. Great atmosphere, great food. I've been here probably 15-20 times and never once had a bad experience. This will be one of the few things I'll miss when I move. 5 out of 5, would totally recommend.

We are new to tacos, having ground beef and cheese taco as our only experience. So we weren't ready for the variety and explosion of flavors this place has to offer. Furthermore, our experience with different meats in Mexico was often the overly dry variety offered by tourist traps in Cancun. The meats from here were juicy and tender, and believe me I'm Asian, and I know tender meats. You just gotta try this place, or should I be selfish and keep it a secret, since too many people already know of this place and we had to wait to get a table even in mid-afternoon.

Good place, good food. Ordered an assortment of tacos to try out. I’ll give it a 4.5 … server was great. Prices are adequate. Parking in the plaza is jammed packed. Size of locale needs was slightly smaller. Because of the popularity, be prepared to wait for a table.
