Tried it for the very first time and was very pleased with the food and service. They have very good prices on the lunch specials and prices overall are very reasonable. BBQ was super delicious and had tons of flavor.Bristed was moist and bbq sauce is really good too. Waitress was very attentive and service was fast. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
The food was fabulous. The Wrangler taco was super. Service was great. That Wrangler Taco was so good I had to go back and get another. It is so big I was able to have two meals from it. Dona Carmen is a special lady & puts her heart into her cooking. Everything is from scratch & every taco is made when you order it. No food sitting under a heat lamp or steam table. Great food from the heart. Frankie & Mikie are blessed to have her. If you want good authentic home cooked breakfast go to Frankie Flav'z CRAFT BBQ CO.
Recently, I took a late lunch and was in the mood for some BBQ to which I found myself over at Frankie Flav’z CRAFT BBQ over in Harlingen.
When I walked in, the place was a little quiet (guess I missed the lunch rush) but was fine considering that I just wanted to get something to eat. The cashier (Mari) helped me decide as it was the first time eating here. She recommended the two-meat plate special which I agreed to and not disappointed in the slightest.
Let me tell you that I was blown away by the serving of my plate. The plate included the ribs, beef brisket with the creamed corn and baked beans on the side. The picture that I provided does not do the meal any justice.
Both the ribs and brisket had a milder flavor than I was used to considering as a born and bred Texan who is used to Mesquite smoked meats. However, the taste was a breath of fresh air as the meat was well seasoned and tender. I had the pleasure of speaking to Alejandro, one of the Pit-Masters there, who provided the insight to the thought process what makes Frankie’s the place to grab some tasty BBQ at a reasonable price. He gladly explained how he prepared the sides as well as how the meat was seasoned and smoked which in my opinion, shows the passion that he and Frankie have for providing great food.
Overall, I expect to be going back again very soon and bringing backup as the food is well worth the trip and not a killer on the wallet. I want to thank both Mari and Alejandro for an outstanding experience and look forward to my next visit.
On a side note - If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Highly recommend (come with an appetite)
O.M.G. boy was that a great meal! Wow!!! We were immediately greeted by a wonderful waitress, who told us to sit anywhere we liked. She had great recommendations from the extensive menu! We chose the brisket enchiladas with rice & refried beans (wow! The enchiladas were fantastic and the beans were to die for!), the 2-meat plate (ribs & lean brisket- oh so good), with a side of beans and curly fries, the brisket grilled cheese sandwich (on crunchy Texas toast 😋 soooooo good) with yummy crunchy sweet potato fries, and the Pretty Pig sandwich (pulled pork & sausage on a toasted hamburger bun with BBQ sauce and a fried egg) with curly fries. We were also served the soup of the day, before our food came out - it was a clear broth with vegetables and rib meat. Everything was delicious and on point. We can't wait to come back and try more of their excellent BBQ!
