New York Deli Harlingen

I really wanted to like this place, but it was meh. Truth be told, it was probably the only place that was open near us on a Wednesday at 4 pm. I had the lox bagel and even though the salmon portion was was good, it hardly had onions or capers, which is what makes the sandwich. My niece had the burger and even though it was grilled well, it didn’t have much flavor. Like I said, it was good, but definitely not great.

I finally returned to eat here after many many years. We ordered the brisket sandwich, the brisket melt, and one of the burgers. All were excellent. Service was excellent. We were not offered refills on our drinks however, cups are giant. I dont know if there are free refills and i didnt ask. I highly recommend. This is a must stop. Congrats to this establishment. Well done.

What a wonderful experience, I had to try the Philly steak sandwich with homemade fries. My friend had the grilled chicken melt with homemade fries. Both sandwiches were delicious and quite filling. I highly recommend this establishment.

The New York Deli in Harligen is a slice of NYC awesomeness. Food was great and the staff was friendly. Not a single person at my table had a single complaint...of course once those meaty sandwiches arrived there was no time for chit chat!

If you're in the valley you have to this this place.

Great sandwiches if you want something different other than Subway or Firehouse in town. The menu has different and delicious combinations. I ordered the:

*The Wallstreet with fries. The bread and veggies were delicious. Potato salad is awesome and their tortilla soup is spot on. Sandwich had grilled chicken, bacon, swiss cheese and avacado.

Lunch rush is a thing here but dinner is quiet and comfortable. Looking forward to my next visit.
