Wow! Pretty good Vietnamese in Harlingen?? Who would have thought. It's not going to win any awards, but likely the best I've had in a long time so there are definitely points there. Fast, clean, great service. I had the pork fried dumplings. They were a bit gummy, but on the other side of that they were quite tasty and I enjoyed the sauce.
For the entre I went with the B30: 30. Vermicelli with Marinated Char-grilled Shrimp. It was VERY fresh, tasty and hit the spot. The shrimp were way over cooked, but they made up for it with a fantastic seasoning.
I would definitely return and advise anyone who likes Asian food to stop by if they are in Harlingen.
Given this restaurant has quite a bit on it’s menu I was skeptical trying the Thai portion of the menu. Their Pad Thai is excellent!! They do only give you one choice of spice level which is a mild more than it is a medium. Their Thai Tea is made extremely well. Their rice was dry but had delicious flavor. We were also able to try the pork steamed & pork friend dumplings. The filling was flavorful as one would imagine. The only feedback I have would be that they fry all the sides when traditionally it’s only supposed to be the bottom portion of the dumpling. The service was great & the lighting made the atmosphere inviting & fun.
Will definitely recommend this place to people looking to try some good Thai!!
I haven't visited this place in quite some time. The prices are not cheap for what you get. Service was good and timely. One of the sides I ordered was vegetable spring rolls. I took one bite and returned them. I couldn't cut them with my fork. The one bite I took was tasteless and chewed like I was gnawing on a ball of rubber bands.
I had the vegetable plate with rice. It was nothing to write home about. I'll pass this one up next time.
Pho #1 is such a lovely place to get Vietnamese and Thai food. I usually get the pho (#7 well done meat on the menu) and it never dissapoints. The tea is surprisingly good and is a nice treat to your meal, highly recommended. Their staff is usually super attentive and kind during your dining experience. The calm and relaxing atmosphere makes the experience all the more unique.
