I usually order delivery from Aiya from the website through ChowHound. I've tried numerous other places in Frisco/Plano and they are all mostly gross. This isn't Chicago or San Francisco Chinatown level Chinese food, to be sure. But it's above average. And considering the area and the competition, is about the only truly edible option in the area.

    (1) Good menu choices are: Garlic Sauce, Hunan Sauce, Gen Tso's and Sesame.
    (2) The fried wontons, crab rangoons, spring rolls and potstickers are all pretty good.
    (3) I've only tried the Wonton soup and the Hot and Sour. They are both very flavorful. They arrive very hot.
    (4) Delivery is always fast. Definitely get the house made hot mustard as the packets are the typical gross stuff.

    Opportunities for improvement:
    (1) It would be nice to see a menu option for pork eggrolls.
    (2) Their lobster sauce is a bit off somehow. Not bad off, just not balanced in flavor somehow.
    (3) I often find that they don't follow the directions through the ChowHound app: e.g. if you ask for a vegetable substitution or extra spicy, it doesn't get noticed.
    (4) I think they over-carrot their vegetable mixes. Need to balance it out a bit more with onions, peppers, snowpeas, baby corn or whatever is relevant. It can often present as 50-60% carrot. But having said that, their vegetable portions are crunchy, fresh and very ample. Seriously, there are a number of Chinese places that are literally disgusting. Aiya isn't one of them.
    (5) I don't know if they include MSG or not. I suspect not. But they could strengthen the flavor of some of their dishes with spice and better sauce ingredients.

I’ve invited at least 5 or 6 people to eat here with me on dozens of occasions. Everyone who comes for the food loves it and wants to come back with me.

Pros: Fresh quality food, variety of delicious asian dishes and house-made sauces, nice private atmosphere, great delivery service, friendly staff ready to serve us.

Cons: I like the cozy atmosphere, but some people prefer big restaurants with lots of seating. This place is more of a Hidden Gem.

I love eating here when I come into town. If you like Asian food, you’re likely to love this place too.
