Service was great! Friendly and fast, and they showed this first time the ropes on what food was what. Food was very delicious and the regular size was large enough for lunch. Highly recommend!!
Ikagi Udon is a Japanese 'fast food' counter serve style restaurant. The staff here is super friendly and patient. They allowed us to sample several of the broths and explain what everything was. The noodles are boiled fresh right in front of you and served in a heated bowl to keep them hotter longer. Free toppings include green onion, nori, pickled ginger and tempura flake. I'd recommend skipping the tempura flake unless you're a quick eater. The Udon noodles served here are thick and toothsome, very tasty!
The Tempura items we got were also very tasty. If you're a picky eater the croquette would be a good choice. Japanese drinks like Creamy Mango or Melon sodas and Calpis are also available for you to try.
First time here and tried their Tan Tan Udon. Holy moly, it was super flavorful and satisfyingly filling. My friend got the Sweet Beef Udon, and it was also delicious but had a lighter broth. We also shared the tempura onion bomb and a Spam musubi...I am quite pleased, so I'll definitely be coming back. Great customer service--staff was friendly, and the establishment was always kept clean throughout. I'll add lastly, it's quick for lunch, too, especially during the work week!
I work nearby this place and it's my go-to to warm up on a winter day. Don't let unfamiliarity deter you. The staff will help you out with that. Good stuff.
It is a good concept in Japanese style fast food. The food tastes very good and the price is right. Without pottery bowl immersed in boiling hot water before the udon is served to keep it warm is short of the "authentic" label.
