Hunan Bistro (湘知湘味)

Dinner with the family here tonight. We will definitely be back . The Tango fish dish was excellent in flavor and the dish is huge. The Sizzling beef was a great dish for my son who does not like spicey. Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was appropriately ethnic. Menu was in chinese but the pictures were informative and the staff gave us great advice.

This restaurant has truly authentic Chinese cuisine and reminds my wife and I of some of our favorite restaurants In Tianjin and Beijing. They have a steamed garlic shrimp that is absolutely delicious and unique beyond description. Several soups are outstanding, as are a variety of meat and fish dishes with the lamb and fish combination among our favorites. They also have several fresh salads including a delicious selection made with black fungus. If you are a fan of great Szechuan dishes, this is your restaurant. Extremely popular and not too large a seating area, so if there is a wait, don’t be discouraged, it is well worth it.

Authentic Hunan-Style restaurant. The dry cured pork was delicious. The sour beans were awesome. And our favorite dish of the night was balls cabbage steamed with glass noodles. The garlic based sauce is so good. The food is greasy and salty. Goes well with steamed rice.

Love this place! Food here is great and the next is very extensive. Definitely very authentic items in it which is neat to see.

The things I'd recommend items are:
+ Lamb and fish pot: Awesome!! Large sized.
+ Eggplant, peppers and egg: So tasty!
+ Sweet rice ball soup: Great way to end the meal. It's big though so just keep that in mind.
+ Tripe and celery
+ Dry pot intestines
+ Seafood egg tofu
