Sets a standard for Buffet sushi that rises a tad bit above the competition in three key areas - variety, quality and service. Management are constantly patrolling the aisles for feedback. Staff are every alert on replenishment of the buffet trays. Refills and general table bussing occurs every few minutes.
It is impossible to get fresh wild Pacific salmon in winter and I avoid the Atlantic ones from farms. So no salmon for me and tuna was conspicuously absent. The shashimi had other options but the absence of tuna is a big disappointment.
The soup stand offered three varieties but I did not realize that the seafood label was for the flavor and the inhabitants of oceans and lakes were not included. Basic Shabu Shabu service is available but obviously it is meant to be a checklist item rather than a signature offering.
