This is our second visit to this place. First with wife and second with wife and kids. Both times we enjoyed a lot. Kids loved it too. Had couple of suchi rolls and a bunch of screwers. Everything was excellent. Definitely will visit again.
I always go on a Monday night and sit at the bar. Can't remember the bartenders name but he is amazing back there. Sushi, apps, and everything are beyond amazing. The curry is definitely next on my list because the guy next to me ordered it and it smelled AMAZING. He said it's the only thing he gets since he loves it so much. Best food, best service, BEST music selection!!
I've been to this restaurant twice now while traveling for business and just love this place. The sushi is super flavorful and fresh and that is just something hard to come by where I live in Jacksonville. There's a special something that most pop-up sushi restaurants just can't match and this place nails it when it comes to the quality of fish is provides. The people here are nice and upbeat and seem to be enjoying their jobs which makes for a nice customer experience for me. If you try only one thing here, it's gotta be the scallops. They are exquisite! You must try this place if you're in the area.
Yama is a great place for really good sushi. I visited for the first time during lunch and was very impressed! The sushi was very fresh and was really good quality fish. The only reason for my 4 is I ordered the short ribs and had to send them back because they were undercooked. Part of the problem is the fact that the short ribs were very thick and so it took a long time to cook them. However, when they arrived the center was still pink. They quickly corrected the issue by throwing them back on the grill but I would rather them bring an entirely new set of ribs.
