I love Schobel's food. It's always delicious. I love the buffet. Especially the big block of cheese, pies and chicken noodle soup. Anytime I'm in Columbus, this place is a must stop.
The food is a little pricey. It gets packed. Sometimes the parking lot fills up quick but that food will keep you coming back.
We stopped in to have a good breakfast before traveling to Houston Astros game. It was the perfect amount of food for the price and our trip. The waitress was awesome. Pleasant with her jokes and worked to cover some tables that may not have been hers. We love to stop here as a half way point from Austin and its always delicious! Keep up the good work!
A staple in the city of Columbus! The place had been there for years and family owned. The staff are home grown and very personable. The food is good, but sometimes inconsistent in the quality of taste, however more times than not, you will be satisfied and feel good about your purchase and selection. If you live near Columbus, then you know this place. If driving through, you must give this family owned restaurant a try and enjoy a small sample of small- town flavor and hospitality!
Good and not so good. We had the sea food. The shrimp and oysters were huge and fresh, but those and the catfish were way over breaded. The bread and salad bar was excellent as were the sides. One of our party had a Reuben and it was excellent. Lightly batter good seafood, it doesn't need to be overwhelmed and you get 5 stars. Pies are fabulous. Some on here spoke of a dinner buffet. There is a lunch buffet, but no dinner buffet.
We stopped in Columbus and had the buffet dinner as we were headed back home from Austin. It was so delicious! The food was fresh and more than just good, it was savory. There was a nice selection of meat and vegetables and a great soup and salad bar. All of the people were very courteous. We usually are in too much of a rush to stop for a sit down meal on the road, but this was well worth the time.
