I had the lunch special today which was chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots, and oh man was it delicious! Talk about home cooked goodness!! I love eating here. The food and tea are excellent, and it has such a down home atmosphere.. would definitely recommend!

One of my favorite places around Canyon Lake. The owners grandparents started the restaurant, and the stone masonry from that era is marvelous!
The food is always good, prices are very reasonable... And the wait staff are friendly, helpful and make you feel like you're home.
A place to see, and eat at if you're in the area...

I really like this place. Hot coffee, homemade biscuits w gravy, chicken fried steak, etc

On Friday evening they have fried/grilled catfish w/pinto beans and coleslaw and a couple of small but tasty hush-puppies

The menu isn't super impressive but it has a lot of variety. The lunch special today was awesome. I LOVED sliced tomatoes as a side....they were fresh and delicious and tasted home grown.

Wait staff is super nice and accommodating. Hot tea set up was great....although they did not have a decaf tea option. Cod was cooked in too hot oil....or for too long..but not too bad....a great substitution for shrimp that was the special. We appreciated them making an accomodation for us.

I love the whole meal....even the yellow cake with homemade icing....just simply delicious.

Prices are very inexpensive...the decor is very dated, but the food and service scream top notch!

So glad to have had lunch here and will go back as soon as I can!
