This is one of the newest place to eat in Texas Melts.

To start, they are not offering inside eating at the moment it is call ahead and walk up only! (I recommend calling ahead)

I tried a single patty burger with only mayo and cheese. They use butter Texas toast as the "bun," which is my FAVORITE thing for a burger to be served on. The meat was so very flavorful, and the cheese melted to perfection. It will be tough to try something new next time, because this was so tasty. I got a combo, which comes with hand cut fries. (Not my favorite kind of fry, but that's a personal preference. They still have a nice seasoning on them.)

Overall, highly recommend. I look forward to coming back!

Like many, I was deeply saddened when Hanna's Kitchen closed down for good this year. It was my go-to breakfast taco place, even though there were closer options.

My family all speculated as to what would happen to the location, whether someone would open up a new place, or if it would be converted to a business office or something. So it naturally piqued my interest when I saw that a new restaurant called Texas Melts had moved in. I'm always interested when a new restaurant opens, so I looked up their menu online, saw the breakfast section, and saw they served breakfast tacos.

Well, I just had to find out.

With only a couple bucks in my wallet, and mindful of their predecessor's cash-only policy, I called in to see if they accepted credit cards. They did, and while I was on the phone, I decided to go ahead an place my order: a bacon, egg, potato, and cheese taco, which former frequenters of Hanna's might recognize as their "Tom" taco, my favorite order from them.

"Okay, give us about ten minutes." Ten minutes? Good thing I called in. I had read that their food is made to order, but I hadn't expected that for breakfast tacos. Clearly this wasn't a scoop from pans of pre-made ingredients assembly line operation you see in other breakfast taco places.

I went in, got my order, went home, and inspected my food. It was a decent size. One would probably be enough for most people, but if not, two will definitely do the trick. The tortilla was good quality, not the sort that falls apart. The egg definitely looked like it had been cooked fresh instead of scooped from a pan. Rather than a homogenous yellow you get when you scramble up a bunch of eggs in a bowl and throw them in a pan, this looked like it had been cracked straight into a pan and scrambled there, with cooked egg white clearly visible. It was pretty pleasant, and nice to know it was fresh.

I tried it with their green salsa, which was creamier than I had seen elsewhere, but it tasted good and had a nice amount of heat.

Final verdict: although they have big shoes to fill, this is a good place to get your breakfast taco fix.

    Texas Melts hit the spot!
Patty Melt was juicy, gooey with cheese and was so fresh! Home style cut fries ~ love that!
Cheese sticks were crunchy, cheesy and marinara sauce was a BONUS!
Customer Service for orders was awesome! Quick, easy ordering, will definitely be back!
