Babe's Chicken Dinner House

They always have the best fried chicken! Great cozy place to go if you're not from the area. Entrees are $15/person, so it's not exactly cheap, but the sides are all family-style, and they're delicious. Plan to come here in advance - have a light lunch, and don't make plans for breakfast tomorrow.

The fried chicken is excellent. A dinner comes with corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and biscuits. You can have all the sides you want, but cannot bring home leftovers. You can bring home your remaining chicken. The desserts looked good but I was so full that I wasn’t able to try any. You will not be disappointed.

I visited the Carrollton location. Great food and a good time was had by all. Frequently a wait but well worth it. Excellent chicken fried steak prepared correctly wear the meat does not shrink inside the breading. Your only choice is your meat. They bring sides family style, and bowls to the table and keep refilling as you request. Different locations do not always offer the same Meats. Even the biscuits were good and I'm not a biscuit fan. Honey and sorghum on the table and make an excellent dessert with the hot biscuit. Wait staff periodically perform a line dance which was fine but a little hokey. Bustling and Lively atmosphere. Bring your appetite!

Easily my favorite fried chicken. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly and did an amazing job. Very attentive, but not over bearing and bothersome. Food is always delicious. You must wear pants two sizes too big when you eat here because the family style sides just keep coming.

If the location you go to has catfish, it is a must-try entree. Closest thing to catching it yourself except they do all the work and it is always consistently perfect. Best catfish around. They have a little secret about how and where they get theirs.

But don't miss out on the chicken either.

Their house salad dressing-you will love it or intensely dislike it. If you try it and don't like it, put a dash of salt on to cut the sweet. It is vinegar-based with some sugar. Unique among house dressings.

Just eat everything else if you can't get past that. You won't be sorry. Big crowds at peak times at all their locations. Just wait for it.
