Great service, but they took a little bit too long for my churro to be ready
Mexican Restaurant 100%! Even with a vast menu of every conceivable Mexican dish, I was told about some other specials they offer that the neighborhood crowd seems to really enjoy, including elótes which are basically Mexican street corn on the cob. I haven't had that here - yet. What I did have today was a whole fried mojarra, which is tilapia. Seasoned and cooked perfectly, and accompanied by a small salad with tomato, lettuce, onion and avocado, along with french fries and a very tasty Spanish rice. The best parts were the salsas, including a squeeze bottle of homemade chile rojo, a creamy concoction of fresh tomatoes jalapenos, possibly Serranos, garlic and onions. What a combo! Beware it has **flames** in a manner of speaking. Also, I had a large glass of fruit water, which in this case was a delightful, fresh watermelon beverage on ice. Yes, real watermelon. Delicious! They serve a variety of bottled beers, although I was there for lunch and didn't try it. The TV was tuned to Univision. There is a lot of walk-in traffic from the neighborhood. The property looks like it used to house a Hardee's, Burger King or some such, with an area out front that is fenced and which probably once contained a kiddie playground of some kind. It's not easy to get into the parking spot, because there is no median turn lane there, but it's worth the effort to weave between other businesses and I guarantee you'll want to find your own special way to come back for more!
