Henk's European Deli & Black Forest Bakery

This place is a mixed bag at best. The Deli has a small selection and it is OK. I picked up some pate' and I it's not too shabby. The bakery/grocery has a very nice selection of treats and goods. We bought some cakes and a few other treats to remind me of my time in Germany.

Finally there is the restaurant. While the seating appears cozy and quaint some of it, namely the booth we sat in, needs attention. The service was about a five out of ten but could have been better. The schnitzel was sub-par, thin, poorly breaded and heated on the flat top. The sauerkraut was a bit bland, but not too bad. The cheese soup which, I hoped it would have been beer cheese soup tasted reminiscent of Velveeta and had weak flavor. My wife had the Rueben and she seemed satisfied, while my daughter enjoyed the German Burger. For an appetizer we have the potato pancakes and they seemed ok with enough sour cream.

After living in Europe, I know what I expect for European Cuisine and this kind of missed the mark for me. We may come back again, but it will most likely be for the bakery.

It's family oriented and I felt welcomed. We had wonderful live entertainment. I wanted to get up and move with the music. What a lovely time we had during dinner. I will return.

The cakes are amazing. I lived in Germany for a long time and this is the only restaurant in Dallas with a European flair. Try the chocolate cake or any cake there for that matter. Located very close to north park mall. Highly recommended.

This place is otherworldly! Great, great food with exotic treats and snacks to sooth any homesick, European pallet. The 5 star staff makes you feel welcome and accommodated.

Love this place. Been here several times and love it more and more. We came here as a group from work for lunch and had a great reasonably priced meal. There's several German beers on tap at a price you can't beat.

Then you have the bakery side that has some amazing cakes, pastries, and truffles. It's pretty hard not to stop and get a little something home.

Then you also have store side that has a variety of products from Europe not just Germany. I've seen some products like wine and chocolates from Poland as well. This place is a gem.
