I knew I wanted Brisket but, couldn’t decide on the sides. They allowed me to try anything I wanted. The blue cheese slaw was great but, I went with the staples: baked beans and jalapeño Mac and cheese.
The brisket was right on point. Cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful. I required no sauce, whatsoever. However, I did try some and it was great as well.
Hour wait for our food that was so good I’d have waited three hours if I had to. I could see why they were so busy. They were out of turkey so we split some ribs. I was never much of a rib eater, but I am now. The mac n cheese slapped me in the face with how good it was. 5/5 would enter the meat and cheese coma again.
They were out of ribs so we grabbed half a chicken instead and definitely glad we did. High quality meats and great sauce. Only thing that could be better was the mac and cheese, nothing to write home about. Great atmosphere all around.
This is a great place to get BBQ in the Dallas area. I came here with 4 other adults, and for $120 we absolutely stuffed ourselves and took loads of food home. The atmosphere is typical Dallas BBQ--you stand in line, and try to come before the meat runs out. It's very "greasy spoon."
The meat is incredible. Moist and tender. I tried the chicken, jalapeno sausage, brisket and ribs. Outside of the meat, we had beans, mac & cheese, slaw and deviled eggs. They threw in an entire loaf of bread, which was hilarious. I think I'm going to be full for 24 hours.
They have a bar, bottled sodas, and a fountain drink with Coke products.
I was visiting Dallas on business travel and asked for recommendations for the best BBQ. Lockhart was independently mentioned by at least 5 people. The brisket may have been the best I’ve ever eaten. It was so incredibly tender and moist it just melted in my mouth. The ribs were excellent as well. I also tried the smoked sausages but thought these were just average. If you’re limiting yourself to one meat choice it needs to be the brisket.
