Hillside Tavern

new to the neighborhood, hillside tavern is a good spot for bar food and visiting. It was very busy on a Wednesday night. Unfortunately, The food was very uneven. The cheeseburger and onion rings were excellent, the patty melt was good but bland, and the fish and chips instead of being crunchy were chewy and they're not recommended. there's a good bit of sugar in the seasoning used on the fries and onion rings, more than I like. Our server was busy, but reasonably attentive. The physical environment is very loud.I could not hear the people I was visiting with sitting on a couch and chair immediately adjacent to each other. Otherwise, it is a comfortable it was too hot when we were there for the patio, but thait was too hot when we were there for the patio, but that's where I'd say I took it all possible on a return visit. hillside tavern is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, I just wish the food were a little bit more even.

bar food and service at this spot is great. entered near ten, it was not crowded. looking forward to a return trip. the bill was reasonable i would say. mood here is similar to fresno's scene.

Bar food... my favorite treat. Very filling. There was quick and friendly service. The place has a cool atmosphere.

Great neighborhood spot. We have been there about 8 times since Hillside Tavern opened!! Tried all the snacks, sides, making our way into the sandwiches (bologna sandwich is amazing!). Love the wines by the glass, although to be honest, I’m only drinking the cab franc sparkling rose so far!!! It has become our go to place. We love it!!
