So personally, I enjoyed my whiskey and lamb, however I wasn't dining alone, and the $19 burger my wife ordered was "mediocre" in her words. Additionally, it was supposed to be medium, but was definitely well done. Essentially, what they do well they do very well, but what they don't specialize in they don't do very well.
If you've ever wondered what good food tastes like, go to isla & co. The menu is nuanced and welcoming to the urban explorer. It's the taste of a wilder continent with local hospitality. Between the three of us, we experienced about a third of the menu and each bite was better than the last.
Just opened in Bishop Arts and was excellent. We got the gin spritz and then shared the Brussels, the Caesar, the burrata and the Thai curry.
All of it was excellent except the curry - was a little disappointed. Felt the flavor wasn’t quite there and the sauce a little watery. Must haves are the Caesar and the Brussels tho, absolutely excellent!
Looking forward to going back!
Great experience - first time here, and food was amazing! Had the Spicy Shrimp Vodka Rigatoni and the Griddled Banana Bread w/ Maple Butter (must try).
