The food here was SO good. It honestly was surprisingly well priced for what it was and the portions were pretty big for a tasting menu. The ambiance is also to die for! Fun but you can hear the person across the table.

Very over rated. Great presentation and very good staff but the food just doesn’t taste as good as it looks.. . . .

Review Update: added a star (from 3 to 4) due to prompt(and creative) management reply. It shows they care. May just give it another try as suggested.

First off, a wonderful experience. Lets start with the atmosphere, the lighting is incredible, and plants are a delightful touch, not to mention, the small size of the restaurant helps make for an intimate setting!

Second, the service is amazing. The staff is aware and clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the plate or beverage they are presenting.

Third comes the food, each plate is a balance of flavor and beautiful presentation to enjoy. I found that the quality of each plate focused not only on the delicious seasonings, but the high quality core ingredients. They even seemed to indicate the order of presentation was intentional, bringing the pasta plate first, the seafood plate second, the vegetarian dish third, and the pork dish last, providing balance to the flavor.

Favorite touches: Some restaurants keep the music too laud, this was not the case, carrying a conversation was easy and I never felt as though I was competing with noise.

What could be better: The QR code menu. I would be remiss not to mention that if there was one thing that could have made this experience better it would have been having physical menus on hand. I have yet to meet someone who doesn't feel tacky about looking down at their phone while on a nice date night. Part of the dining experience is looking at the menu itself, and with a restaurant that puts extensive effort towards the atmosphere, I am surprised that this is overlooked. Please please do way with the obnoxious code staring up at patrons during their date. It is something I expect for Applebee's, not Rye.

Ideal for: Fantastic location for a date night, a celebratory event such as a graduation, birthday, guests in town and a nice location to take them out for a pleasant experience.

Dress for occasion: I would describe the dress for this location to be "gussy" nothing fancy, but a trendy, cleaned up appearance would likely be the most appropriate.

    Overall great experience!

Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night, passed by the window and stopped in because of the atmosphere. Had a lovely dining experience. Didn’t really know what kind of food place it was, and we were in for a real treat. The server gave excellent advice and I truly enjoyed everything we tried. Flavor combinations is unsuspecting and wonderful, I would describe my meal as DIVINE. Best meal I’ve had since being out of the country.

We went to Rye for date night on a Friday. After being late to our reservation trying to find parking (despite all the lots around, the street is crowded on the weekends) they were very accommodating. And highly recommend reservations as a group of guys that got there when we did were told it was a 3-4 hour wait. The vibe of the restaurant was very comfortable and quaint. Everything we ate was *chefs kiss.* I honestly prefer the small and unique chef-curated plates in this boutique style restaurant to the stereotypical fancy steakhouses around Dallas. I’ve never tasted a more delicious root vegetable, the time and consideration that goes into each plate! I was most looking forward to the Icelandic Hot Dog as I loved them in Iceland, this was obviously a different take, and much smaller than I expected, but I enjoyed every bite. For dessert we had the peanut butter and jelly thyme… how they made a child’s themed delicacy taste so rich and elegant is beyond me, but I’ll be thinking about this whole meal for a long long time. Knowing the menus change frequently, we will be back as soon as we can!
