Michael's of Las Colinas

I have mixed reviews on our dinner. I ordered a margarita and when it came out it looked more like a Long Island Ice Tea and it was very strong so I sent it back. I then ordered a Tequila Sunrise, and it was something else. A red drink, I can't tell you what it was. It was also very strong.

We ordered the deviled eggs with the hot Cajun Shrimp on top. (Though I appreciated the shrimp being hot, they overpowered the delicate eggs.) I could only eat one. The lemon pepper wings we ordered also had mixed reviews. (My sister thought they were over cooked; my cousin loved them) The semi-warm mozzarella sticks was not enjoyable. (My sister bit into 1 and the whole piece of cheese came out of its crust.) If they were served hot they might have been a bit more tasty. I only ate one. We also ordered the crab cakes. I wish they had more crab meat in them. I wouldn't recommend these. Now the showstopper and what we loved is the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were hot, and crisp! They had a lot of flavor! I highly recommend you try them. Now I ate several, mind you several of these. I did not want to share them. They were that good.

The last thing I ordered was the Triple Threat which I shared with my cousin. It was warm salmon over a creamy bed of spinach with Cajun shrimp piled high. It was supposed to have crab on top (but we could not find it in the dish. It could have been in the sauce. Idk) The salmon was firm and delicious. My cousin loved the spinach, she ate it all. The Cajun shrimp seem to be the same as the ones used on the deviled egg which gave the dish a One Note flavor/taste. So again as much as I love shrimp, I only ate one.

As other servers brought our dishes to our table, none of them seemed to notice that we did not have any silverware. However they were all courteous, announcing each dish before placing it on the table. When our server came back to our table, I asked him for it, and he brought it right away. He was apologetic when the bartender messed up my drinks. He was professional, nice and attentive. He would periodically check to see if we need anything. The hostess that seated us, accommodate us when I mistakenly made reservations for the following week. She too was very polite. The staff was great here!!!

The live band and the music was really enjoyable. I would definitely eat here again and of course do some dancing.

My first time coming to this place and first impression was amazing! Greeted at the door, no reservation so we sat at the bar, it was cool! The drinks were so good, atmosphere was nice! I’ll definitely be coming back soon.

The staff and atmosphere is amazing. When I go back I will sit at the bar and only order appetizers. We made reservations, our table was reserved when we got there and the staff was very accommodating. However, we waited almost 2 hours for our food to arrive, only for some of our food to be cold and dry. I was also told after the fact that they were out of yams. I only rated a 3 due to our food experience. Other than that I would go back. Just don't go hungry and order appetizers. The gumbo was great!

Seemed like a nice place; music was lovely. We went on Sunday to eat n enjoy some good music, but we were not dressed up to the dress code, but we will definitely come prepared next time. The ladies in front were So lovely and kind. So 30 n up have that classy flare when u come to Michael's.
