“First time eating at a place that loves sushi as much as I do. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was as soft spoken and kind as you'd expect at a Japanese restaurant. Even our white waitress played the stereotype perfectly. My wife and I started out with the Heart Attack, which lives by its name on spiciness. Although, it wasn't too spicy for my wife who favors mild cuisine. Then we finished with the Louisiana Roll, the Shrimp Tempura Roll, and some Sashimi Tuna. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and filling. My wife was feeling adventurous, and usually steers clear of anything that hasn't been touched with some heat, but she surprisingly loved everything. In short.. Eat here if you desire something different and pleasing. You will not be disappointed.”

“This location is actually pretty nice. They have a do-it-yourself pickup machine inside (which I have not seen at some other locations) which is really convenient at busy times. They also have little stands on the counter for the flavor cups (i.e. - ranch, butter garlic, etc) which make it easy to grab what you need. Obviously there isn't much seating while you wait for your order but their speediness makes up for it. The staff are really nice too.”

“The restaurant was nice and clean and the booth was comfortable. Coffee came quick, right as we were getting settled actually. Food came at a decent time, pancakes were gummy and sort of tough, didn't get one of the biscuits we ordered. Service was great until our waitress decided to disappear for 15 minutes to eat. At that point we were beyond ready for the check and needed to get our toddler out of there. Overall, not bad. May have been better on a different day. The other servers working we're great and super helpful during the disappearance of ours. Definitely give it a try, maybe don't order pancakes.”

“I have eaten here for years and every time I visit, I am beyond satisfied. 1) Excellent price for what you pay. I order a dish for about $10 and I get like a pound of food. I have leftovers twice and it’s never worse than the first time. 2) Consistancy in food quality. I generally order the same thing every time and each time the food meets the standard of the previous time. Some places vary from dine in and take out and every time I have gone, early or late, my foods quality is the same. The ingredients are so tasty and fresh. Take a peek in the kitchen back there and they are working hard! 3) Great service. I am always treated well in store and over the phone. If I have a problem, they meet my needs. If I can say anything negative about them, it’s they sometimes take a while but I prefer quality over quantity any day. This restaurant is super underrated and I wish more people knew about it! I believe the downfall is that it is on the North side of Denton and people choose not to drive up there. If you're looking for a change of pace , head North of 380 and pull into Horny Toad Cafe. “Visiting town and heard a lot about this place. Great atmosphere, but the pizza and service was just OK. The pizza was light on flavor, but otherwise good and filling. The "spicy Pizza Relish" they offer has no spice and adds not real flavor. If you want service you have to find an employee; they are sometimes at the counter, but more likely in the back or filling their drinks at the fountain.”
