I can't get enough of this place, and had my first taste-bud climax last week... eating the Raging Cajun spicy fried chicken with corn marque choux. Seriously everything here that I have tried, about half the menu so far.. does that! Thank you Rodney!!
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! This is LITERALLY the BEST Cajun food I’ve been able to find since moving back to Texas from Louisiana. SUPPORT THIS AWESOME CHEF & HIS GREAT WORK!!!
All the food is amazing here! Very authentic New Orleans style Cajun country cooking! Also, even better, Chef Rodney is the kindest most warm and friendly host!
Tried this for the first time and I wish I would have made it out sooner! These grits were absolutely amazing and I left stuffed and happy. Juicy shrimp, buttery grits, just spicy enough and I can’t wait to try what else they have!
Located inside the Oak St. Food & Brew food hall, Yeschf definitely brings a taste of New Orleans to Roanoke.
On the weekends, you can usually find the Brunch menu being served. It's limited, but the French Toast will blow you away. It had so much flavor that I didn't touch my syrup. It came with boneless fried chicken which added to the incredible flavor. I typically don't like Shrimp & Grits or Biscuits & Gravy, but it only took one bite to win me over. I'd make an exception for these and get them next time. I was able to try a bite of those dishes along with the Potato Leak Soup. I thought that was an interesting dish on the brunch menu, but one cheesy spoonful and I was wishing I could take a whole jar home for a rainy day. There are no drinks served, but there's a bar on the other side of the food hall.
The owner, Rodney, is so welcoming and truly loves what he does and misses his Louisiana roots. You're bound for delicious food with a chef like him who loves cooking with their soul. I was especially blown away with Rodney's hospitality in knowing many folks names and saying hi to them across the hall. He even made a few exceptions for a few newcomers who didn't realize it was Brunch day and really wanted a smaller dish off of the brunch menu like the Truffle Fries. It varies on what fresh items he has in stock so the best way to keep up with changes in hours or menu items would be through the Yeschf Facebook page.
