Jerusalem International Foods

I am an overweight diabetic [I lost 70 lbs in 2021] and have lived 18 years 120 miles west in Deming, NM. In summer, 2022 I excitedly saw and bought good and to me an unusual variety of things aplenty here, such as deliciously preserved or fresh fruits, salty and spicy (olives) or sweet (fresh plums & dates) and even crunchy blanched whole almonds, to take home and enjoy for weeks or months; unavailable to my knowledge for another 120 miles further west to Tucson, AZ where I used to live 19 years with my family. I was delighted to witness the wonderful people who came in and shopped as well as to meet with the kind, helpful and courteous shopkeepers. I miss it and am just dying to get back soon I hope in May, 2023 and in the future, Lord willing. Like a kid in a candy store, I just wished I could still eat more sweets!

Kewl place. Many things I'm unfamiliar with, but looked enticing. Made me want to learn how to cook with the new options. Staff was polite, and considerate.

Food was very tasty. Chicken gyro was a bit dry, but still very good. Fries were very good. Service was good and at first a bit slow being that we were there at a time when it was not too busy. I noticed many people order to go and have them wait about 15 minutes or so. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

The only place sell halal meat in the area I know, very clean store, friendly stuff. Full of international items that you don't find in your grocery store. If you like cook Arabic/Persian food, you will find what you need here.
