I tried the pita and tortilla soup. They were every good. I have had burgers in past visits and they are also very good. Their fries are some of the best I've tasted. Service is good also. Very good dining experience for lunch or dinner.
We were in town for a wedding and my boyfriend wanted a place to stop by to get a beer and watch some college football before getting ready for the festivities later that night. In a small town, we weren't really sure what we were going to get, but were pleasantly surprised by Sammy's. The restaurant portion wasn't crowded, but we also came in around 11:30.
Our waitress was quick and we were shocked by all the TVs. Seriously there are TVs everywhere, even in the booth with you.
I ordered hot wings and my boyfriend got a chicken quesadilla. The wings were really good, just the right amount of sauce and crunch, but the "hot" wing sauce wasn't really all that hot to me. I could tell by the coloring that it was a homemade sauce, though, not a generic wing sauce they dumped out of a bottle, which is nice. My boyfriend said the quesadilla was good but also noted it's pretty hard to mess up chicken and cheese between two tortillas. Looking at the reviews about outrageous wait times, I can't exactly remember how long it took to get our food, but I think I'd remember if it took an outrageously long time, so I guess the wait time was relatively normal.
We told everyone in the wedding party about it that night and I think a few of them stopped by later that night after the wedding was over. If we ever make it out to La Grange again, we'd definitely stop by here.
