Amazing food. Huge portions and a friendly staff. Best place in town by far.

Great food and a pleasant staff. The restaurant was very clean though sparsely decorated. I had chicken fried chicken, squash and fried okra. The portion was large (I’m 6’3” 230 lbs) and I couldn’t eat it all! Tasted great! Prices are very reasonable. I’d recommend this place to my momma but come hungry!

Went on a little drive and was passing through, deciding to stop by for some home style food. The service was good, the waitress was by herself, besides the kitchen staff. They were slow when we arrived but yet we still had issues with our food. We ordered chicken fried steaks, catfish and a corn dog . Both plates of chicken fried steak had cold sides, okra, corn, green beans and mash potatoes. The canned corn was not drained or separated from the plate so it made my wifes steak soggy. The gravy and steak was great and was hot. My daughters fish was good but bland and she had cold green beans and soggy fries. The main issue was my youngest that got a soggy microwaved corn dog, we asked if they could make her a new one and possibly be fried. No issues from the waitress, she apologized and had the crew remake it. The one we got back sadly was completely frozen on the inside. We paid for all except the kids meal and left. She was very apologetic and we don't live bear them but if passing through, I'm always willing to give a restaurant a second chance.

We were on I-10 from San Antonio to Houston, hungry, hoping for a Cracker Barrel. My daughter said "hey what about this JJ's it looks good. Boy was it! Made from scratch cooking.. real mashed potatoes, grilled green beans, thick freshly made burgers, thick bacon, tender chicken fried chicken & steak, fresh lemon meringue pie. Everyone in our party was highly impressed and full walking out. All the sides and toppings were fresh.

I've only done a few Google reviews, but had to take to review JJ's Kountry Kitchen. I come from a BIG family of cooks and know my food.. trust me this place is doing it right. They opened in July 2019. Check them out you will not be disappointed. I hope to make it back JJ's, good luck to you!
