Mandito's Tex-Mex

I walked in as the favorite child. No person greeting us. So we walked in. Shortly after our waiter we will call “I got chu” let us pick our own table! 1 star. Then we sat down he introduced himself but I forgot his name. I listened to the people in front of me +2 stars. We got our drinks and my Shirley Temple it tasted weird -1 star. We got our caso and it was cold -1 star. so later we told him to heat it up we got a whole new caso! +1 star. I got the food before my parents did. The lettuce tasted soapy. -1 point. Overall 3 stars. - the kid of this user

April 2024 - 1st time to the newest Tex-Mex here in Cinco Kanch/Katy. It was OK, in my opinion. I've seen the reviews. Most people around here love it. I understand it's Mandito's kind of taste profile for Tex-Mex. It's just didn't hit my taste pallet, I guess. But, I'll give them a 2nd chance since the wife love her burrito bowl. Here's why... tomatoeie salsa, thick chips, too much lard in the refried beans, and there was a lack of spicy 😕. The balance of my food was good, but not great. The service was 👍 good. The food came out quick and piping hot. The atmosphere has a Mexican flare. So, the bottom line is that if I compare it to other Tex-Mex in the area, which are great, my 1st experience here was just okay. But, I'll be back to give it a go once more and provide an update.

Went to check it out today. Greeted at the door by the friendly staff! Seated immediately and was served by a very friendly young man named Ali. He was very attentive and kept our tea glasses full and got our order exactly right. He was very engaging and actually had a conversation with us and remembered our names throughout the meal. Really refreshing to have this level of service and he is a great asset to your company! My wife had the Alejandro combination plate. All of it was very good. Her highlights though were the guacamole, the beef crispy taco, and the habanero salsa picoso. I had the Swiss cheese chicken enchilada (enchiladas Suizas) plate with the charro beans and Mexican rice. The enchiladas were fantastic! Deliciously flavored chicken inside and the verde sauce was very well balanced. Beans were very good and Mexican rice was flavorful. To top it off, Ali brought us ice cream with a cherry on top! Perfection! A little positive critique here, the front door was tough to open….at first we thought it was locked…maybe add a sign to let people know to pull hard. I know the door could eventually become easier to open…it’s probably just new and needs to be broke-in! :) It’s really nice to have another choice of great Tex Mex so close to our neighborhood! For a restaurant that just opened 5 days ago, y’all are doing a fantastic job! Next time we are trying the Tex Mex banana split!

Finally a great gin cocktail with Mexican food. The food was super light and delicious. Very flavorful and they aren’t joking when they say the best chips around. The whole concept was done exceptionally well and gives the high end vibe. The first day server kinks will absolutely be worked out in the first 2 weeks but the food is so amazing I’ll be a regular for sure!
