Park Place @ The Boardwalk Steak & Grille / Banquet Space

I had the $3 Lamb chops. It was my first time having lamb and I was SO IMPRESSED at how DELICIOUS they were. The service was great. My waitress “Ace” was so kind and attentive. The owner even came by and visited with us at our table. The atmosphere was very happy and the food was OVER THE TOP DELICIOUS!! We will definitely be back soon.

So my girlfriend and I decided to go to Park Place at the boardwalk for dinner to try their $3 lamb chop special that was advertised on Houston Black Restaurant week website. We went there with no reservation and thought since the website didn’t state that we needed one well we were sadly mistaken. The host said a reservation was needed and that they were “full” for the night. However, when we went on open table it showed different, so we booked a reservation on open table. Fyi book your reservation beforehand and not when you get there, like we did lol because we still had to wait but decided to go upstairs instead of waiting.

Ambiance: it was cool! A light soul r&b played in the background which created an intimate atmosphere for a simple date night or a girls/boys night out on town. I really wish I could’ve experienced the downstairs/outdoor seating area but we didn’t have our reservation in before we arrived, so no fault to them. If you want to go for cocktail and you want to seat at the bar, I suggest you go early because seating is very limited and tight. There is 3 sections to Park Place at boardwalk (downstairs seating, upstairs where they do karaoke every Thursday and Friday, and upstairs outside seating).

Food: well our soul purpose was to try their $3 lamp chops and let’s just say I now know why it’s $3. I don’t have a picture because it was returned. I ended up getting grilled salmon blacked (owner’s recommendation) and medium rare my preferred meat/fish temperature with grilled veggies, and garlic mashed potato. I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes and veggies! The veggies were crunchy, evenly seasoned, and cooked to perfection (if you ask me). For the mashed potatoes, it was well whipped and very creamy (in a good way) I really enjoyed it to the point I wished I would’ve gotten only those two as a meal. For the salmon, well again, I like it medium rare and not a lot of cooks know how to cook a salmon to its temperature. Nevertheless the less, I really enjoyed the food. over cooked, mushy, or over seasoned! Since we sat upstairs (karaoke area) there’s no food served up there hence why our food are in to go plates.

Service: the service was excellent! The host, with knowing we didn’t have a reservation she did attempt to get us seated quickly. Britheny (not sure if I spelt it correctly) was very accommodating and knows how to make a good cocktail! The owner Rod, also was accommodating, showed great leadership, understood customer service.

All in all, if you are looking for a spot in Katy that provides an ambiance that’s not to loud, has different sitting areas, good cocktail, karaoke, $3 lamb chops on Thursday and $5 on Friday! I would definitely recommend going to Park Place at Boardwalk it worth the experience and try.

WoW! The Hospitality from RC was beyond Chick-fil-A. RC the chef and owner ran out of Lamb chops 1 hour before closing, Went to go get some more just for us. Well worth the wait. The flavor makes you want to SMACK a Stranger!

Took my wife here for birthday brunch with the kids. I went online and set a reservation, per the comments, so we wouldn't have issues when we arrived. I expected the place to be packed upon arrival, but it wasn't. We arrived at about 1230pm. I let the host know about my reservation, but he said don't worry about it since the place wasn't full yet. My wife, kids, and I enjoyed taking photos on the patio where we chose to sit. The waitress was very polite, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the menu. My wife ordered chicken wings and waffle with eggs on the side. The kids ordered the pancake platter with sausage and potatoes. I went with the Cajun shrimp and grits. Everything turned out well. The portions were a nice size, and we had to take some to go. The mimosa flights were good also. The best part of our visit was when the owner/master chef came out to not only check on us but to clear the tables as well. Some places you don't find this service no matter the restaurant. Granted, this could have been since we were early, but it doesn't negate him showing his face and talking with us. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth another try later in the day to compare services and food selection.

Place was nothing short of amazing! Food was on point as well as the service. Cajun shrimp and grits was great! Shrimp plump and juicy and not over cooked....grits creamy and not undercooked. French toast crispy outside and soft inside. Waffle crispy just how I like it. I did ask for it well done. Eggs were good and fluffy. Definitely have to try the Man-mosa even if beer isn't your thing. Can't wait to come back. Server Alicia(???) Was great and super helpful. Offered lots of suggestions.

Pricing was beyond superb for brunch unlike many other places in HTX that charge an arm and a leg and maybe even another leg depending on where you go! Can't wait to go back to this hidden gem.
