BEST BRISKET EVER! I'm a native Texan BBQ fanatic and have eaten at most of the Texas Monthly top 50 BBQ restaurants and "Leon's Cut" Brisket, which is prime grade, was the most tender and tasty I've ever had. So tender you could eat it with a spoon and perfectly smoked with awesome flavor, just don't ruin it with sauce.
It took us another look at our Google map to find this little joint. If you drive too fast, you'll lose it. Having had Pappa's BBQ two days before, we came to this place. Aside from not your typical BBQ restaurant (from outside), the BBQ here is quite nice. We don't eat a lot so the waitress recommended the three meat combo. We chose ribs, briskets and turkey with Leon's cut (which means the fattier parts). It was way better than Pappa's. The ribs and briskets were especially good, turkey was a bit dry but my son likes dry chicken. Turkey was the next best thing ????
Overall, great experience, will visit again if we ever visit Galveston.
Delicious food at good prices. Extremely friendly people and excellent service. They even offered to fill up our boys’ water bottles with ice water as we were leaving. We will definitely make this part of our trip each time we’re in Galveston!
Must have been an off night. Ate here before and thought it was better. Had Leon's cut brisket which was way too fatty for me. The potatoe salad was mush. Our server was excellent and the food was quick. A very busy place but getting pricier.
